In January, the Jupiter Farms community came together to voice its objection to the Rise FC Soccer Complex Project and the proposed Zoning and Planning Changes which would serve to allow more Commercial Development in our community and forever change the dynamic and atmosphere of our rural area.
Our community showed unity in sending over 700 emails and hundreds of attendees at the meeting to speak out against this Future Land Use Change to Commercial Recreation. The result was that with public unity, along with PBC Planning Staff’s recommendation to deny the FLU Change; the Planning Commission voted unanimously against the change and denied the applicant their request.
IT NEEDS TO BE NOTED: the Planning Commission’s determination is only advisory in nature and the Applicant is still moving forward with their proposal to the Board of County Commissioners on July 28th, 2020.
IT STILL INCLUDES A FUTURE LAND USE AMENDMENT THAT HAS THE POSSIBILITY OF AFFECTING JUPITER FARMS PERMANENTLY.
