1. Jupiter Farms Residents; Your Voice is Needed

The Palm Beach County Zoning Commission and Board of County Commissioners will soon decide the fate of a proposed Private School on Rocky Pines Road (Control No. 2009-01722, Application No. CA-2025-00956). This Class A Conditional Use request seeks to build a nearly 1,000-student K-12 campus with a 110,000 sq ft main building, gymnasium, sports fields, and 268 parking spaces on Rural Tier land.

2. Why Residents Are Concerned

The Jupiter Farms Residents Association (JFR) has submitted detailed rebuttals documenting serious issues:

  • Traffic Overload: Traffic studies project and additional 3000+ daily trips and hundreds of peak-hour vehicles on rural roads like Indiantown Road and Rocky Pines Road. County staff requires the installation of traffic signals, turn lanes, and commercial-standard road reconstruction – changes incompatible with our two-lane rural network.

  • Rural Tier Conflict: The scale violates the Jupiter Farms Neighborhood Plan (adopted 1994) vision of low-density rural character with minimal non-residential intensification.

  • Unresolved Issues: County reviewers found inconsistencies in student counts, traffic assumptions, and queuing plans across multiple application revisions.

The applicant has not demonstrated a bona fide need for a nearly 1,000-student private school in Jupiter Farms, especially in light of the County’s own comments that the justification lacks sufficient Rural Tier data and that nearby schools already serve neighborhood families.

Need is important because a Class A Conditional Use is not supposed to be approved just because a project is desirable to the applicant. The application still has to fit the Rural Tier, be compatible with the adopted neighborhood plan, and show adequate justification for its scale.

3. Your Action Is Critical

Decision-makers need to hear from YOU before approving this urban-scale project in our rural community.

Use JFR’s form letter (available below) or write your own concerns about traffic, rural character, and neighborhood impacts.

Attend Hearings:  Public testimony carries significant weight.

4. The Stakes

County staff comments confirm this project triggers infrastructure demands our rural roads cannot support without fundamental character changes. One email, one voice at the hearing ~ that’s how we preserve Jupiter Farms’ rural lifestyle.

Act now. Our roads, our peace, our community depend on it.

THIS CLASS A CONDITIONAL USE WILL PERMANENTLY AND IRREVERSIBLY CHANGE JUPITER FARMS.
