How the Proxy Works: In Plain English
Think of this meeting like a big landowners’ meeting — except your vote is based on the number of acres you own. If you can’t attend, you can give someone you trust a proxy — basically, permission to vote for you at that meeting.

When you name JFR (through Matthew Gitkin, JFR President) as your proxy holder, we combine your acres with others to create a single voting block. This lets Jupiter Farms speak with a stronger voice and protect our rural way of life.

Your proxy is only good for this one meeting and can only be used for the following:

  1. Nominating one (1) Supervisor for a term of three (3) years. The Supervisor to be elected at this time may not reside in the District but must own land in the District and reside in Palm Beach County.
  2. Receiving annual reports and taking such action with respect thereto as the landowners may determine. 
  3. Setting compensation for the Board of Supervisors. 
  4. Transacting any other business as may properly come before the meeting.

YOU WILL STILL RECEIVE YOUR SIRWCD CANDIDATE VOTING BALLOT AND NEED TO RETURN IT TO THE DISTRICT BY SEPTEMBER 17.
THESE BALLOTS ARE TABULATED BY THE PBC SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS

This proxy does NOT affect your rights, your property, or your future votes.
If you want, you can even just sign your name and give us your address, and we’ll fill in the rest for you.

Why This Matters
Last year, after years of progress and protection, we lost a big advantage. The deep pockets and influence peddling of a pro-development realtor and his cronies managed to gain an advantage. This allowed Bob Berman to win a seat on the Board of Supervisors — from Palm Beach Country Estates — to reverse progress we had made.

Berman came very close to shoving HB4099 down our throat without any community input, public notice to the District, or proper procedure.

This would have cost Jupiter Farms dearly.

How You Can Help

  2. Print, sign, and return it to us ASAP so we know where we stand before the meeting.
    • If you prefer, just sign your name and write your address — we’ll fill in the PCN and acreage.

Important Reminder
This is NOT your ballot to vote for the SIRWCD election. This proxy is only for the Annual Landowners Meeting and expires afterward.

Your ballot will be mailed to your home in mid-August.
